Vaccinations

Preventing diseases that can be detrimental to your dog's health by administering vaccines.

Our dogs are part of the family, and we want our furry family members to live long, healthy lives. One of the most important defences to boost our dog’s immunity and to protect them from various illness is vaccinations. Vaccines are one of our most important weapons against infectious diseases. Some diseases such as rabies are transmissible to humans, so protecting our dogs also protects our family and friends.

What types of vaccinations do you offer for adult dogs?

The vaccines we offer for adult dogs are the Distemper combination vaccine (this includes Distemper, Adenovirus, Parvovirus, and Parainfluenza), Bordetella (kennel cough), and Rabies- these are considered our core vaccines. We strongly recommend adult dogs to also get the Leptospirosis vaccine and Lyme vaccination depending on the individual dog’s lifestyle.

Is there a schedule for how often a dog should be vaccinated?

Vaccine schedules and selection should be an individualized choice that is made by the pet owner and the veterinarian. Together, they take into consideration the risk associated with the pet. A dog that goes to dog parks, doggy daycare, and grooming may require more vaccines than a dog that never strays from the home. Please call us today to book an appointment to discuss a vaccination protocol for your dog.
