Dr. Reiner, DVM
Like pretty much everyone in the veterinary field, it was my love of animals that first attracted me to veterinary medicine. I was also fascinated by biology and physiology, so medicine was a natural extension of that. After completing a Bachelor of Science in Biology at Dalhousie University in 2004, I returned to my home province of Ontario to study veterinary medicine at the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph. I graduated in 2008, then returned to the Halifax area with my husband to start my career as a small animal veterinarian.
As a primary care clinician, I really enjoy getting to know my clients and their pets, watching them bond and grow together as a family, and safeguarding the health of the cherished four-legged family members in my care. I am intrigued by the pathophysiology of disease, so I also love the challenge of diagnosing and managing complex medical cases. After spending the past few years working as a relief veterinarian in several HRM clinics, I am so pleased to have found my home at the Spryfield Animal Hospital, where I can say with confidence that I work with some of the absolute best technicians, assistants, and veterinarians in the region.
When I’m not at work, I can usually be found on the ski hill, at CrossFit, or running after my two young kids.
